Available from the publisher. Written in two languages, Italian and English, the work enters into the full nitty-gritty of the typographical overprint, which it manages to classify into two types. The first is formed by four overprints and had three print runs. The second, definitive version is formed by fifteen overprints and had ten print runs. The text describes each position for each of the different editions of the overprint, which has been frequently forged ever since it was first used. The book is an essential companion for the study of reciprocal relationships, which are an indispensable for identifying the position and the changes that occurred during the printing phase of the different runs. The work ends with a study of entire samples and of postal practices, can makes a careful examination of all the known forgeries that have come to light, including the counterfeiting of full sheets. Volume 2, 65 full-colour individual plates, with reproductions of the full sheets of the ten print runs, all encased in a sturdy cardboard pocket, with a bound and plastic-sheathed cover. It was decided that showing the tables one by one facilitated the reader’s task of analysing them with the parallel text on the facing page.
