In two languages, Italian and English, the book is the result of the authors’ years of research and study into the stamps of the R.S.I. In addition to providing descriptions of the techniques inks and colours used to overprint, and of the variations that occurred, the book also gives an account of the overprinting used in Rome, Verona, Florence, Genoa, Turin and Milan showing for each one them the characteristic positioning of the overprint which is illustrated with drawings. An original work of considerable value, it is an indispensable manual for the identification of different print runs.
